microPrint is a family-owned business in its second generation. It was founded in 1995 by Rudolf Bührer, who had previously co-founded Tecaprint and developed the MP100 for the company Madag – the first pad printing machine with integrated pad cleaning. His passion for new technologies drove him to incorporate innovations such as touchscreens and linear motors into pad printing at an early stage. As a result, machines like the Selecta for text printing and the ML-Line with its programmable process were realized. A significant breakthrough was also achieved with the introduction of the Viscomat for automatic color dilution.
In 2011, his son Thomas Bührer took over management of the company. Thanks to his background in electrical engineering, the pad printing machines increasingly integrated electric motors, which allow full speed control of the pad stroke and thus expand the possibilities of pad printing. Moreover, the machines are becoming more networked and meet the requirements of Industry 4.0. The latest advancement is the implementation of camera systems that enable automatic correction of printing positions.
Our philosophy is to optimize our machines for maximum flexibility and enhanced capabilities—not to compete solely on price. We particularly value challenging printing projects, as they push us and contribute to the continuous evolution of pad printing. Together with you, we are committed to continuously improving and advancing pad printing.
